Donating does not exempt you from rules or otherwise elevate you above other regular users.

Donations are considered taxfree income to the owner (insofar there's no profit). Most of it will go towards running the server whilst anything leftover will pay down the initial investment or be saved for future running costs and upgrades. Should the owner (me) at some point profit from this project things might change. I might register as a non-profit organization or just pay taxes like any other business and just pocket the remaining profit. This is highly unlikely to happen at all.
